Gypsum fiberboards are produced by mixing gypsum, glass fibers, cellulose, and additives contributing to water resistance into a homogeneous mixture. This mixture is then shaped into the desired form using rollers, and through thermal treatment, the boards take their final shape. On the other hand, gypsum plasterboards have a layered sandwich structure, with gypsum filling between cardboard panels. This difference in production method and final form defines the distinction and areas of application between gypsum plasterboards and gypsum fiberboards.
Advantages of Gypsum Fiberboards

Considering the aforementioned advantages, the question arises: why aren’t gypsum fiberboards preferred over gypsum plasterboards? The answer is straightforward – price. Gypsum fiberboards are considerably more expensive. The most affordable gypsum plasterboards can be acquired for just over 4 dollars per square meter, while the cheapest gypsum fiberboards are twice as expensive.
Therefore, gypsum fiberboards are only used where their advantages are necessary. On the other hand, gypsum plasterboards are more than adequate for a wide range of applications and significantly more affordable, making affordability a key factor in their popularity.
