IKEA introduces MITTZON, its most extensive office system to date, designed to meet the evolving needs of modern workplaces. Inspired by changing work trends globally, the MITTZON collection is developed to create spaces that support various work activities.
Prioritizing Well-being with Ergonomic Design
The MITTZON office collection, consisting of 85 products, prioritizes well-being through ergonomic design, including acoustic features and nature-inspired elements. With MITTZON, IKEA extends its home expertise to help people feel at home in their workplaces, creating environments where both individuals and businesses can thrive. This collection is IKEA’s largest office system and will be available from April 2024.
Adapting to Hybrid Work Trends
The rise of hybrid work has shifted the role of the physical office from a static space, where everyone has a permanent desk, to one where each day is different, and flexibility is essential to meet changing needs. Today’s offices must compete with the comfort of working from home. IKEA has taken on the challenge of designing a system that meets the needs of the new workplace, resulting in MITTZON.
Flexibility at Its Core
MITTZON is developed with flexibility at its core. The system includes a variety of products that work together to support different office environments – from informal, short meetings to structured, collaborative activities to individual, focused work.
Many MITTZON items are on wheels or can be easily moved to create impromptu workspaces or private areas. They can also be stacked and stored when not in use. MITTZON features simple lines and colors to seamlessly blend into any office personality.
Emphasizing Acoustics
Acoustics were a key focus in developing MITTZON, as workplace noise can significantly impact focus and well-being. MITTZON’s acoustic screens, IKEA’s first high-level acoustic products, not only absorb and block sound but also prevent visual distractions and offer the privacy needed for concentration.
IKEA explored filling MITTZON acoustic panels with wood fibers, a material commonly used for insulation in construction. This filling, made of over 90% wood and recyclable, has been tested and proven to effectively absorb and block sound, and it has been incorporated into the product.
Durability and Environmental Commitment
The MITTZON family is designed to be durable and long-lasting, in line with IKEA’s commitment to producing items with a lower environmental impact. Besides having a timeless look, MITTZON products are modular and can be disassembled, reassembled, refurbished, and repaired for long-term use.
Additionally, the system is made from high-quality materials that withstand wear and tear, such as fade-resistant wood veneer for desks and conference table tops and high-strength steel for some tables. MITTZON also comes with a 10-year warranty.
Global Availability
The MITTZON collection will be available worldwide from April 2024.
